Water Brigade: Our seventh Water Brigade went to Los Huatales, Honduras with 11 volunteers. They dug 60 m of trench dug and laid 100 m of piping,

2018-

Medical/Dental Brigade: Our tenth Medical/Dental Brigade, went to the now empowered community of El Espinito, El Ocote, Honduras with 23 volunteers. This was our first brigade that consisted of a main brigade, Medical/Dental, that had a Public Health Brigade in adjunct. They built 6 eco-stoves in El Jicarito, Honduras during the Public Health portion.

On this Brigade we really connected with our translator- Fernando, and our optometrist José Luis. We have remained in contact with them and had the privilege of working with them again on our 2019 brigade!

2020-

Medical/Dental Brigade: Our thirteenth Medical/Dental Brigade returned to El Tablón, Honduras with 38 volunteers. Returning to the same community as our 2019 brigade gave us the unique opportunity to reconnect with the local GB team and the community. Being able to see how much the kids had grown and having patients recognize us was an amazing experience.

Engineering Brigade: Our first Engineering Brigade, with 9 volunteers, designed a water system for Quebrada Grande, Honduras. The system allowed for each household to have 1-2 hours of water every other day.

Are you a local business interested in donating hygiene pack items or a healthcare professional wanting to come on a brigade with us? Let us know!

2021- Tele-brigades

With the uncertainty and risk of traveling during the Covid-19 pandemic, Global Brigades paused in-person brigades in order to keep volunteers and partner communities safe. Instead they launched a new kind of brigade: Tele-brigades. Tele-brigades allowed volunteers to still make a difference in partner communities but from the comfort and safety of their own home.

Medical Brigade: Our first medical tele-brigade had 16 volunteers and worked with the Global Brigades staff in Honduras to learn about the Honduran medical system and shadow doctors at the Global Brigades Clinic in Tegucigalpa.

Engineering Brigade: Our first engineering tele-brigade had 10 volunteers. We partnered with Dalhousie University for this brigade to Honduras.
